From Landó to Son, Samba to Jazz, Issa (pronounced "EE-sa") Cabrera wows audiences with lush vocals above infectious Latin rhythms. Combining folkloric traditions, a jazz foundation, and a modern pop sensibility, Issa expresses a singular and captivating sound on the Latin music scene. Singing in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, Issa Cabrera performs with a natural ease and talent.
Since her debut recording which featured the extremely talented Lonnie Plaxico, Quincy Davis, Nick Russo, Bennett Paster, and musical director/percussionist Emiliano Valerio, Issa has performed at venues such as the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, DROM, Trumpets Jazz Club, Old Westbury Gardens Picnic Pops, and more.
Issa Cabrera is a 2010 Brooklyn Arts Council Grant Winner for “Communities in Rhythm!” In 2011, Issa won a Bootcamp Scholarship from the New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA). Based in Queens, Issa performs throughout the New York metro area with her band.
